Temple Beth El of Hammonton, NJ had its beginnings in 1934, in an apartment above a clothing store in downtown Hammonton. Now, after 75 years in our building in Hammonton, we are looking back through the years and forward to the next 75.
In 2010 we were clobbered with two snowstorms followed by heavy rains. Our basement classroom, meeting room and kitchen were flooded. Water damage and mold and mildew made the building unusable.
After two years of planning, working, and holding events in other locations, we are back in our newly remodeled shul, holding services, classes and special events.
As the only Reconstructionist synagogue in this area of Southern New Jersey, our doors are open to anyone who wishes to attend. But we are a small community with a large financial obligation to repay and we need the help of generous people who want to see those doors remain open.
Please join us for services. And please consider making a contribution to help our historic community continue its rich history and tradition.
