Our Spiritual Leader

We are pleased to have Abby Michaleski returning for her third year as our spiritual leader/student rabbi .  As our Spiritual Leader, Abby leads monthly Shabbat Services, Adult Education, Community Programs  and spiritual counseling and support.  In addition, Abby is actively involved in our school, providing our children and teens a creative learning experience in a warm and welcoming environment.

After years of membership, leadership and teaching at Temple Beth El of Hammonton, Abby returned to school and earned her Master's Degree in Jewish Liberal Studies from Gratz College in Philadelphia.  A deep love and desire for a vibrant and spiritual Judaism inspired her to continue her education and is working towards rabbinic ordination in the ALEPH Rabbinic program. ALEPH:Alliance For Jewish Renewal is a worldwide trans-denominational organization that works towards advancing a vital Judaism as an ethical and spiritual path.

In 2003 Abby became our cantorial soloist and continued in that role for 3 years until, in 2006, she became our spiritual leader.

In addition to her work at TBE, Abby works in the South Jersey Jewish community as a B’nai Mitzvah tutor and cantorial soloist.  She also holds a NJ License as an Addictions Specialist and maintains a private practice in Voorhees.

We are pleased to have Abby continue as part of our Beth El family and look forward to her leadership in prayer, song, study and celebration.
